NY Regions Can Start To Reopen May 15, Governor Says (Patch)
Governor Andrew Cuomo says any region planning to reopen has to have a detailed plan showing how it will handle the coronavirus.
New York's governor told regional representatives to prepare to reopen from May 15, but with detailed plans to closely monitor any resurgence of the new coronavirus.
The state's stay at home order is set to expire May 15 and, for some areas, the governor suggested it is time for people to start their return to normal life. He made it clear that reopening would only affect areas less seriously affected by the virus, with hard hit places like New York City continuing with the shut down.
